Attorney at Law

            Michael Genna has practiced law since 1972.  He received his undergraduate degree with a B.A. in Sociology from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, in 1966.


      From 1966 to 1969 he was a decorated U.S. Naval Officer serving in Vietnam.  Following his active military service, Michael entered the University of Oregon School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree in 1972.  All the while, he stayed in the Naval Reserve for over 27 years and ultimately retired as a Commander.

      Michael's first job after law school was as Chief Deputy District Attorney in Deschutes County, Oregon.  Thereafter, in 1973 Oregon Governor Tom McCall appointed him District Attorney of Jefferson County.  Michael was re-elected District Attorney for Jefferson County in 1974.  Later, he served as Assistant Attorney General with the Oregon Department of Justice in Salem, Oregon until 1976.

      Eventually, Michael entered private practice in Cottage Grove, Oregon in early 1977, where he continues to practice to this date in the very same location. Michael focuses his practice on personal injury, criminal defense, domestic relations and probate law.
